YOUR GUIDE TO COMPOSITE BONDING TREATMENT

What can composite bonding fix?

At our luxury Leeds practice, our skilled clinicians understand how vital a perfect smile can be for your self-esteem. Did you know that 71% of British adults don't feel confident showing their teeth when they smile for a photo? We all have insecurities. If you find yourself shying away from the camera or avoiding opportunities because of your smile, composite bonding could be the treatment that restores your confidence.

Offering a fast and effective way to fix minor dental issues, composite bonding creates a new, natural-looking surface layer for the tooth. Keep reading to find out what composite bonding treatment is, what it can fix and how we can help you achieve impressive results that also look natural.

WHAT IS COMPOSITE BONDING?

Composite, cosmetic or dental bonding is an effective way to fix damaged teeth. It involves applying a composite resin material, which in turn creates a brand-new surface layer for the tooth. Here at The Dental Architect, we’re proud to provide our patients with a fast, pain-free way to improve the appearance of their teeth as they desire.

THE COMPOSITE BONDING TREATMENT PROCESS INVOLVES…

The composite bonding treatment process is simple. First, you’ll visit our practice for a consultation. Our skilled cosmetic dentists will take the time to listen to your dental issues and recommend the best treatment plan for you.

If composite bonding is recommended, you’ll be invited back to our Leeds practice for your treatment.

During your treatment, our highly-skilled and experienced clinicians will begin by conditioning the surface of the tooth. Making sure to colour-match the resin to your existing shade, the resin will then be artistically sculpted onto the surface of the tooth. Our talented team can mould the composite resin into the shape and size you want, giving you the smile you both deserve and desire.

WHAT CAN COMPOSITE BONDING FIX?

Our skilled dentists may recommend composite bonding to fix the following dental issues:

  • Chipped or cracked teeth
  • Worn down teeth
  • Uneven teeth
  • Gaps between the teeth
  • Discolouration

Composite bonding is the ideal treatment for those looking to smile with confidence. Our talented team of clinicians can achieve the desired results and correct the above dental concerns in just one sitting.

BENEFITS OF COMPOSITE BONDING INCLUDE…

There are many benefits of composite bonding treatment, including:

  • It is a fast and effective process — just one sitting required
  • A non-invasive procedure, requiring no needles or sedation
  • Usually, no tooth enamel will need to be removed
  • Long-lasting results — can last for a minimum of 3-7 years.
  • A cost-effective treatment
  • Natural results tailored to your individual smile

WHAT IF I’M NOT SUITABLE FOR COMPOSITE BONDING TREATMENT?

In the rare instance that you are not suitable for composite bonding, our warm and welcoming team will discuss alternative options with you. If composite bonding isn’t recommended, we’ll take the time to come up with a more appropriate treatment plan. You may not be suitable for composite bonding if you are experiencing signs and symptoms of gum disease, or have a misaligned bite. Both of these will need to be treated before your composite bonding procedure can take place.

If you’d like to whiten your teeth, it’s best to do this before composite bonding, as artificial materials may not respond to whitening treatment.

COMPOSITE BONDING AFTERCARE

After your composite bonding treatment, you may want to go out and show off your beautiful new smile. However, before doing so, there are some steps you should take to ensure that your smile remains breathtaking for years to come.

For at least 48 hours after treatment, our experienced clinicians recommend avoiding any food or drinks that could stain the resin. For example, red wine or coffee.

You can ensure the longevity of your beautiful new smile by continuing to visit our state-of-the-art practice in Leeds for regular check-ups. Routine visits can help to prevent discolouration and keep your composite bonding results optimum. You should also stick to a good oral health routine at home, which includes brushing twice a day using fluoride toothpaste.
